  New M.O. in feild service?

  so, a week or so before "passover", two witnesses knocked and being that my dogs were going nuts i left the outer door closed.

  she handed me a tract (invitation) said she was "visiting the neighborhood".

  no mention that they were witnesses, in fact she displayed a king james bible with gold lettering on the cover in such a way that i would notice.

I think the last thing she wanted was for me to know they were JW's.

  Is this a new thing being instructed, or just their way of dealing with the stress?

  Interesting phenomenon I'm seeing on Facebook

  it's becoming more and more evident that many young jws just don't care about the wt rules anymore.

  one jw on facebook has particularly intrigued me lately.

  he posts pics of himself sporting (gasp) a beard and uses curse words in his status updates.

  I am of the opinion that it will be the sons and daughters of witnesses that will be the voice of reason about the tower in the coming years. I think so because kids are growing up on the net and afforded more information and interaction than past generations. When I was coming up, kids were seen not heard and had virtually no voice in families. Nowadays, children are held in higher esteem by their parents, respected more, and at least to some extent, given more credibility for knowledge.

  Has anyone had a WT literature burning party?

  i keep staring at the bookshelf full of wt literature in my house and keep having visions of a red-orange glow as the flames crawl higher and higher.

  my goal is to gather it all together, douse it with lighter fluid, and watch it go!.

  ultimately, i dream of my wife being the one who strikes the match and joins me in the celebration.. has anyone had that experience?

  a childs point of view of shunning

  i was having a casual chat with my little girl of 6 last night ansd she said she loved her cousins (her disfellowshipped aunties girls ) then she said we also have some other familie that we have not seen for ages havnt we (i thought she had forgot them ) i said well thats because they belong to a silly religion that wont let them see us (her daddy is disfellowshipped ) she replied oh well lets go and see them instead then !

  how do i handle that ?.

  Looloo,

  You handle that by not exposing your precious children to discrimination. You your kids that you love them and no one can ever take that away no matter what, and you keep telling them that.

  True Love can not be taken away. Not ever. Sounds simple, but its true

  your jws do seem to read from the same hymn book, oops, kingdom song sheets or whatever different term they may employ to separate them sheep from us goats.

  and like sheep, they certainly are!

  reading from prepared scripts like mindless telesalesmen.

  the most radical teaching attributed to jesus has implications if followed.. an invading hoarde of mongols would not be resisted.. a christian husband would not only allow his wife and daughters to be raped; he would be compelled to forgive the rapist, pray for him and offer.

  He must have caused confusion from the start cause he got the death penalty for his views. On some level this person Jesus, could be tempremental and stand up for his cause, and yet be in the spirit of forgiveness. I struggle with this daily as a follower of Christ. I am intrigued by everyones posts, and by the original post.

  I intend to study this more, get into the layers. Like cake, not onions btw. Tee Hee Hee

  A most interesting post, and one to think on heavily.

  Jesus didnt always turn the other. He told off the "authorities" of his own peeps on more than one occasion, and even did what in this day and age would have constituted disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and possibly battery and assault! (read cleaning the temple) because what He saw as injustice.
